Is an app required to use NFC?

No separate app is required for the mobile verification path. NFC functionality depends on support from the user’s phone and browser.

Is NFC alone a complete security solution?

No. NFC does not authenticate the product on its own. It provides access to information and a verification path, and should be used alongside physical packaging and defined management and inspection processes.

Can NFC be used for every product?

NFC can be considered for different product groups, but the final choice depends on product format, packaging structure, cost and expected use. Bank-issued coins, gold bars and silver bars are the initial options presented; melted gold and Parsian gold plaques are also evaluated according to project needs.

In an NFC card, product packaging connects to visible product information through a mobile enquiry path. Bringing a compatible phone close to the NFC area opens that path in the browser. NFC placement and use should fit the packaging structure. This access does not, by itself, authenticate the product.

Displaying product information through NFC brings together three parts: the NFC core in the card, a mobile phone and the product information available to view.

The NFC Core in the Card
The NFC chip and antenna sit inside the card and establish wireless communication with a compatible mobile phone. Their placement should fit the product dimensions and packaging method, and their operation is checked after packaging.

Access with a Mobile Phone
Bringing a compatible mobile phone close to the NFC area opens the product-information path in the browser. No separate app is required; the phone and browser must support NFC.

Product Information Available to View
The information available to view and its access level are set for each product. It can be coordinated with the product-management platform so it aligns with the product workflow.
