NFC Cards
Mobile Access to Product Information
In an NFC card, product packaging connects to visible product information through a mobile enquiry path. Bringing a compatible phone close to the NFC area opens that path in the browser. NFC placement and use should fit the packaging structure. This access does not, by itself, authenticate the product.
Product fit
Choose an NFC card around the product format and verification path.
Choose a piece to place it inside the packaging.

Selected piece placed
For bank-issued coin packaging, an NFC card creates a clear route between the product, authorised information and a mobile experience. The final structure is aligned with the coin format and distribution method.
What to review before choosing
- Coin diameter, thickness and available card space
- NFC placement and the phone-tap experience
- Information intended for the mobile path
For gold bars, an NFC card can provide controlled access to product information alongside physical packaging. Selection is reviewed around bar dimensions and the presentation method.
What to review before choosing
- Gold bar format and dimensions
- NFC placement in the card or packaging
- Alignment between the verification path and product distribution
This combination is generally not cost-effective. A custom configuration can be reviewed around the piece, cost and project requirements.
NFC use for silver bars is generally not cost-effective. A custom configuration is assessed against product format, packaging structure, cost and expected use.
What to review before choosing
- Silver bar dimensions and weight
- Method of attaching the card to the packaging
- Authorised information and the expected user experience
This combination is generally not cost-effective. A custom configuration can be reviewed around the piece, cost and project requirements.
NFC use for melted gold is reviewed around the piece format, distribution method and cost-effectiveness.
What to review before choosing
- Melted gold piece format and dimensions
- Packaging type and a suitable attachment position
- The project’s actual need for a mobile information path
This combination is generally not cost-effective. A custom configuration can be reviewed around the piece, cost and project requirements.
For Parsian gold plaques, NFC use is assessed around packaging structure, attachment placement and the practical value of a mobile experience.
What to review before choosing
- Parsian plaque dimensions and format
- Packaging structure and card attachment position
- Fit between the intended use, cost and project needs
Physical card structure
Five layers, one smart route for the product.
Follow each connector to identify the five card layers. The gold insert is omitted in this cutaway to expose the structure.

NFC card components
The information path in an NFC card
Displaying product information through NFC brings together three parts: the NFC core in the card, a mobile phone and the product information available to view.
- 01
The NFC Core in the Card
The NFC chip and antenna sit inside the card and establish wireless communication with a compatible mobile phone. Their placement should fit the product dimensions and packaging method, and their operation is checked after packaging.
- 02
Access with a Mobile Phone
Bringing a compatible mobile phone close to the NFC area opens the product-information path in the browser. No separate app is required; the phone and browser must support NFC.
- 03
Product Information Available to View
The information available to view and its access level are set for each product. It can be coordinated with the product-management platform so it aligns with the product workflow.
